I'm feeling a little nervous for an improv show for the first time in a while. I'm performing with an incredible cast tonight but we're trying a new format: ensemble based musical instead of following a protagonist. We have a sold out house who are used to our old format. Feels like a high wire act!

I think we made something really incredible together! AP, like improv, is always at least two stories at once: the story being told and the story of the people telling the story. Seeing Dillin take risks, gain confidence, and end the arc in rock star status? That's the personal story I treasure.

Maybe 10 years ago, One Shot was a big part of introducing me to RPGs beyond D&D, making me want to GM, and learn improv. Getting to tell a story with heart on a show I love with people I love, (And this includes you @superdillin.bsky.social!) felt like a milestone. Don't miss this arc, friends!

Sometimes you're running a chase through a casino and the villain breaks a giant aquarium to add an obstacle and then you discover that one of your PCs can talk to fish and get a song worthy of Patti LuPone out of it. Perfectly normal RPG things, right?

Trying to come up with wording for prophecies that sound specific enough for players to think they understand fully but leave wiggle room an anaconda could fit through is tricky. GMs, have any insights that have helped you in this area?

Sometimes you improvise a song and it slaps waaay harder than it needed to. This came out during warmups. Started with just the title, which was "Fine!" and then came to define the relationship between roommate characters, and we absolutely HAD to include it. youtu.be/BktAVefqbxg

My show got it's 2,000th download this week. Seems both like a big and tiny number. More important than the numbers, the stories we tell and the music we make seem to be really *hitting* with the people who've listened so far. I'm honestly proud of what my team is making, which is kinda new for me.
