Reminder for other composers to not listen to music too loudly. I'm lucky enough to be sensitive to noise, to where I probably don't have to worry as much about hearing loss, but it's devastating for composers.

If anyone ever makes a Lunar Legend decomp, or has proper documentation on it, I'd love to try and fix the soundtrack to it. I'd have to see if it could be resampled at a higher sample rate (if it isn't too intensive), and potentially use the GB channels and more instruments + polyphony.

Shirakawa's FM orchestral snare drum lives rent free in my head because of how good it is. It's used in "The Great Battle of Bolt" for instance, and it makes me want to dance along to the music.

I think my right ear might actually be worse at hearing higher frequencies than my left ear? Noticing this while listening to music on my phone that supports stereo audio. When I hear the OPNA hi hat samples, they sound lower pitched when my right ear is listening to it.

Really want to be a part of a project that actually finishes. Stuff happens, and I get why people stop, but I'd like to compose for something with momentum that won't be canceled.

I kind of want the first two "The Legend of Zelda" games to be remade so that certain lore is more accessible without needing the manual. I didn't know the story behind why the other Zelda is asleep in the second game.

The "let's make a cool game idea but instead of making it a full release, it's a gacha game" concept is annoying to me. At that point, just make a full fledged game that costs $60 with maybe a DLC with additional content. Usually the game quality ends up higher anyways.

Need little victories to go through these tough times. Finding that old "Between Dragons" MIDI from Lunar Eternal Blue in my flash drive (I suspected the MIDI was there) and making an improved version of that arrangement/transcription has made me happier.

Something Stardew Valley's music conveys so well that people might not notice is that it has great early to mid 2000s PC game with pixel art (or retro aesthetics) vibes. The synth used (especially that pan flute that's used in Trails in the Sky) really help make the game feel cozy.

I don't want to be a political person, but the American people picked someone that forces us all to be political if we don't want the world falling apart. The fact that there are hundreds of suicides due to the outcome makes me KNOW I can't tolerate hatred and ignorance.

I've talked to a few folks this morning who were talking about stopping work on their creative projects. Because it's "not important anymore." I don't know who needs to hear this, but DON'T DO THAT. We win by living our lives as loudly and truly as we can. That includes your "silly" art project.

Huge win for AI, and a lot of other bad things. All I can say is that I'm extremely stressed...

I get frustrated sometimes having to make commissions more expensive. It just takes so long sometimes that minimum wage would make a lot more money. At the very least I'm mostly using the money for spending only, so I don't need it that much.
