As an AD I never really paid attention to the price of magic cards on the secondhand market, my job was just to make the best looking cards I could. But it's still pretty surreal to see a card I AD'd selling for $30,000 🙃 Madeline Boni did an INCREDIBLE job on this and was a pleasure to work with!

Every time I see your art Randy I go to scryfall thinking "Oh what else has Randy done?" and I am greeted with a page of some of my favorite cards. At this point I have to wonder if the art or the card mechanics influence my decision lol. This piece is sick, no wonder Dragonstorm was so good.

Your art usually does. Selfless Saviour put me on my ass for a week. The perspective making that tiny little brave baby look monstrous? The story behind it?

Its rather poetic eh? A Pyrrhic victory? No one there to celebrate it, no real point or matter, nothing truly won, no fanfare, just two dead bodies rotting in a swamp silently in the dark

It being the only source of light and the fact you know its about to go out... real heavy. Adds a big moment of gravitas and silence to the piece.

When I see this kind of insane art I always remember what got me into art as a career…
