We had our final house meetings of the year this afternoon. The children came up with a new cheer for their House for Sports Day, the House Captains gave out their special certificates to one person from each class and we found out that the winning house this year is Aidan House! Congratulations!

On Go Yellow Day (5th June) the children can pay 50p to play Beat the Goalie against Mr Short, Mr Laird or one of the P7 Pupil Council members. Each player will have their name put in the raffle and again if they manage to score a goal. Good luck everyone.

Friday 5th June is Go Yellow Day in aid of Strathcarron Hospice. All children are encouraged to wear something yellow and bring a suggested donation of £1.

Thank you to these lovely children who helped us celebrate Ascension Thursday Mass in school today. They all performed their job so well. Thank you also to our school chaplain, Father Joshua for celebrating mass for us. 🙏🏻😇

Her is our healthy eating display in the Dinner Hall. We all worked hard to do all the jobs needed and put it all together and we are proud of our work.

On Friday at Assembly, all of our pupil groups in school gave the rest of the pupils their termly update of what they have been working on and what do they plan to do next. Everyone has been very busy!

We are proud to show you our new bus rules on display at the bus gate as the children leave for their buses. This was initially an idea we had as an IDL but it was opened up to all pupils as a competition and this was the winning design. It is important to be safe when travelling to school! 🚌

We met today to share our designs for a display promoting healthy eating in our Dinner Hall. The designs were super and we couldn’t pick just one because everyone had something good so we took bits from lots of them. We are going to get to work on this soon.

Thank you to these lovely P7 pupils who helped with the readings, prayers, offertory or altar serving during our Easter Mass yesterday. They all did a wonderful job! Thanks to our chaplain, Fr Joshua, for celebrating the Mass with us. It was a lovely reminder that we are still in the Easter season.

Congratulation to these lovely children who were selected by their peers to win the gospel value certificate for ‘ Truth and Justice’. They will join the rest of the winners at our special celebration in June. Well done everyone. 🙏🏻 😇

Before the Easter holiday, we had a Holy Thursday prayer service together in the hall. It was a lovely way of preparing for Easter. Mr. Short washed the feet of some of our pupils to remind us that Jesus did the same with his disciples to teach us to serve others.

We all agreed to draw a design for the display to give us an idea of what we wanted to look like. We also talked about Go Yellow Day in aid of Strathcarron Hospice and decided some of the fundraising activities we would do for this.

Yesterday we met with the Pupil Council and had a very busy lunchtime. We discussed what we would share in our termly update for Assembly and what we will be doing for the remainder of this term. We added this to our presentation. We discussed the healthy eating display for the Dinner Hall.

Our garden clear up for Eco Week was a big success! The garden is looking even better and everyone had lots of fun. Thank you to all the volunteers who gave up their time to help their school. Well done! 👏🏻

Across the week, some of our Eco Committee members have been visiting classes to deliver a lesson about litter, the focus we picked for our Eco Week this year. Using a placemat activity, the children in our classes generated ideas about how we can reduce the litter in our playground even more.

Today the Eco Committee went litter picking in our local community. We visited Bellsmeadow and the skate park. Unfortunately, we found lots of litter. We did enjoy seeing some of the new artwork in the skate park, especially the fox.

We enjoyed helping in our community today!

A reminder that tomorrow (Friday) is our Go Green Day. The children are invited to wear something green to show their support for looking after the planet. This could be something as small as a green bobble.

@primaryandrew.bsky.social The Eco Committee met this week to plan our Eco Week. This will be happening on week beginning 20th April. Some members planned, prepared and are practising a lesson they want to teach in classes throughout the school linked to litter, our theme. We can’t wait! 🚯🚮

Congratulations to the certificate winners at our recent House meetings. They were given these awards from their House Captains for earning lots of points for their respective houses. Well done to Columba House for being the leading house this term and winning an extended break.

Congratulations to all the pupils chosen by their peers and teachers to win the gospel value certificate in March for showing ‘Service and Sacrifice’. They will join the other winners across the year for a special celebration at the end of the year.

Thank you to all the pupils who came along to the Easter Fair in the Hall on Thursday. It was a huge success. The children enjoyed all of the activities. Thank you to the Pupil Council members who each picked, set up and ran their own activity at the fair. We raised over £110 for SCIAF. Well done!

Thank you to everyone who sponsored us for our Wiggle Walk. It was a perfect day for a walk and everyone tried their best. Thank you to all our volunteers who came along to walk with us. Sponsor forms are still coming in so we will hopefully be able to tell you our total raised for SCIAF next week.

Thank you to everyone who tried to guess the bunny’s birthday to support our fundraising during Lent. We raised about £50. The winning date was 23rd May and here is our winner with her new furry friend. Congratulations!

Thank you to Fr Joshua, our altar servers and the P6 Pope Francis Faith Award candidates who helped us celebrate our Ash Wednesday Service in school today.

We have a winner! Our theme for the next Pupil Choice Lunch is Chinese! It won by a very small margin. The lunch will be on Thursday 5th February. We will meet with Sheena in the kitchen in the coming days to finalise our menu and post this around the school and it will be emailed to you.

Some of the Pupil Council members met recently to see if we could come up with some ideas for Health and Well-being linked IDL topics we could share with the teachers. We thought about contexts we would enjoy. It was not an easy job but we enjoyed it and came up with some great ideas.

…European 1 (Hungarian, German, Polish and Swedish), European 2 (Spanish, Greek, French, Portuguese etc) and Chinese. The kids can offer suggested dishes or alternative European dishes on the voting sheets.

We have started to organise our Pupil Choice lunch for this term. The children can vote for one of the three options on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week and the winner will be announced on Friday at Assembly. The options are…

We are going to try come up with some ideas for new H and WB topics and, of course, plan and deliver our Lenten fundraiser. It’s going to be a busy term ahead. 😁

We met with the Pupil Council this week to discuss our planned actions for the term ahead. To help with our SIP for Health and Well-being, we are going to evaluate our display areas around the school to see how health and well-being is being promoted in our school…

Near the end of term we had our House Meetings. The House Captains gave certificates to children from each class who have been earning lots of points, we found out the leading house, had a Christmas quiz and much more. Thank you to the House Captains and the P7 teachers for organising this.
