We have a winner! Our theme for the next Pupil Choice Lunch is Chinese! It won by a very small margin. The lunch will be on Thursday 5th February. We will meet with Sheena in the kitchen in the coming days to finalise our menu and post this around the school and it will be emailed to you.

Some of the Pupil Council members met recently to see if we could come up with some ideas for Health and Well-being linked IDL topics we could share with the teachers. We thought about contexts we would enjoy. It was not an easy job but we enjoyed it and came up with some great ideas.

We spotted lots of ways in which our social, emotional, mental and physical health and wellbeing are being encouraged and celebrated. We spotted some other work linked to other areas of H &WB. There are a couple of small things we want to work on so watch this space.

We took some of the Pupil Council members around the school to see how Health and Wellbeing is being displayed and promoted in our school. This is a suggested activity from HGIOURS that we liked. The teachers let us into their classrooms and we visited the Dinner Hall and P.E/Assembly Hall.

Catch Santa was a really fun activity to help us raise funds for charity on Christmas Jumper Day. It was not easy to catch Santa because he is a very fast runner. Mrs Clause also had a wee shot too.

The remaining cookies went on sale for the rest of the children in the school and were very popular. We had to sell again in the afternoon because we did not want to turn customers away. Thank you again to all those who entered the competition as we raised lots of money from selling the cookies.

The winner isβ¦. N. Her red velvet cookies on the top of the image were simply wonderful according to the judges. Second place went to LS in P5 (the melting snowmen) and third place went to CR in P7 (the cinnamon stars). Well done everyone! You made it so difficult for the judges. ππ»

We also have our Christmas Cookies Competition on Friday. All entries should be in on Thursday or early Friday morning so they are in time for the judging. Please put your name on the tub and lid. The left over cookies will be sold at break, costing no more than 50p. Good luck and happy baking!

Just a little reminder that Christmas Jumper Day is on Friday 12th December so children are welcome to come to school wearing their Christmas jumper (or Santa hat etc) and bring in their donation. We would recommend Β£1 but any size of donation is welcome and appreciate. π
