In early 1989, Electrocoin put a new version of Mr. Do! out on location test, with altered graphics, 99 scenes, and new mechanics. This version never made it to market and seemingly didn't last long on said location test, as this preview from an issue of C+VG is the only evidence it even existed.

The instruction card for "Super Pierrot", a rereleased/rebranded version of Do! Run Run made for the Japanese market in 1987. Being one of the last arcade games to be released by Universal, Do! Run Run originally only saw a very limited release across Universal-owned arcades in Japan.

The artwork featured on the "Taiwan Cooper" bootleg release of Donkey Kong for the Atari 2600 is actually heavily based upon (although not directly traced from) a print ad for the home conversions of Mr. Do's Castle.

An article from volume 12, no. 4 of Play Meter magazine, detailing Universal U.S.A.'s withdrawal from the video game industry to focus on slot machines. By this point, many of the employees involved in game distribution had already left for other employers, such as Nintendo and Capcom.

Gameplay footage of Mrs. Dynamite, a maze game planned for release in 1982. Intended as a "sister game" to Mr. Do!, this game ultimately didn't make it out of location testing, and was completely undumped for decades until a cocktail cabinet resurfaced out of Chicago in 2019.

The attract mode for Universal's Top Gear, a currently undumped LaserDisc racing game released in 1984. Clearly inspired in both aesthetics & gameplay by Taito's Laser Grand Prix, released a year earlier, but Top Gear instead opts for completely animated courses, as opposed to live-action footage.

Lady Bug was one of the first five games to be emulated within the first version of MAME, & the first to not be directly based on Pac-Man's hardware (the other four being Pac-Man, a bootleg board of Ms. Pac-Man, Pengo, & Crush Roller). Below is a video of the first stage being played in MAME v0.1.

Gameplay footage of Cosmic Alien, released by Universal in 1979 in Japan and a year later overseas. Heavily inspired by Namco's Galaxian, Cosmic Alien's main twist on the formula comes in the form of a giant monster, which the last on-screen alien will transform into if not taken out quickly.

One of Nintendo's earliest arcade games, 1979's Space Launcher (left), took heavy inspiration from Universal's Galaxy Wars (right). Interestingly, sixteen years later after the release of both games, Galaxy Wars would make its (and only) first official home appearance on the Super Famicom.

The attract mode for Universal's Top Gear 2, a currently undumped (and possibly unreleased) LaserDisc racing game. Designed as a conversion kit for the original, Top Gear 2 features brand-new "park" and "space" courses, both of which take on a more fantastical slant compared to the original's.

Gameplay footage of Get A Way, a game released in 1978 by Universal in Japan, and then a year later overseas. Get A Way used the 16-bit Texas Instruments TMS9900 microprocessor for its CPU, making it the first arcade game to use a 16-bit processor, something its flyer proudly boasted about.

A low-resolution scan of the front cover of a what appears to be a bootleg PC release of Neo Mr. Do!, aimed for the Korean market. Although no further information has been found on this release, it is fair to assume that it is merely an early Neo Geo emulator running a copy of the game.

The Super Famicom port of Mr. Do! was released in Japan on June 23rd, 1995, exactly 30 years ago today. The second entry in a planned series of Universal arcade ports to the SFC, this port of the game, introduces a "battle mode" in which two players can simultaneously compete against each other.

In the ColecoVision version of Mr. Do!, the score is stored as an unsigned 16-bit integer, with a dummy zero placed at the end of the counter. As a result of this, the score rolls over at the otherwise seemingly strangely specific number of 655,350 points.
