Abolish DHS. Its creation post 9/11 was a huge mistake. Many have said this since its creation, but at this point it should be a no-brainer. Break it back up into its component pieces, and radically reshape many of those components to remove the distortions they have undergone.

You see, what has to happen here is that Pretti’s family HAS to sue Miller for $100 million for defamation of their son’s character. They’d win hands down, Miller would be bankrupted, and a serious message would be sent to all the other liars and criminals in this administration.

That shooting was clearly unjustified and murder, and this should not in any way be taken as victim blaming. But I feel obligated to state that in the vast majority of cases carrying a firearm does not make you safer.

Since ICE clearly has not been trained appropriately, they must be fully disarmed so that they are no longer a danger to the public. The State can provide security escorts when necessary. They need to be babysat full time until they leave. This is the bare minimum.

FYI: Dems in the senate can't defund ICE. ICE is funded by the Big Ugly Bill. Shutting down DHS on this vote wouldn't touch ICE, but it would shut down FEMA, TSA, Coast Guard, etc. Shutting down ICE requires taking back Congress in the midterms. Dismantling DHS requires the White House in 2028.
