Tonal whiplash with the last 3 movies: Promethus, Alien: Covenant, Up

Alien: Resurrection was not great. However, it filled in a LOT of missing context for an incredible Super Metroid hack I played last year called VITALITY. It took a huge amount of inspiration from this movie specifically. metroidconstruction.com/hack.php?id=...

Alien 3 was... lots of inexplicable behavior, and I've also found out there's an Assembly Cut that changes a bunch of story stuff. Not sure I want to sit through another 2.5 hours of it anytime soon, though 😵‍💫 I didn't hate it, but also didn't love it.

Finished out the week with Aliens. Probably Alien 3 tomorrow...

For those who don't know, I had a very special pet sparrow named Beebee. I found him in a parking lot after he'd fallen out of his nest. I rescued him, and he lived for over 9 years. I lost him in the beginning of October. This is a quick little 1-bit drawing of him. #pixelart #bird #procreate

Heeeey insomnia! It's like clockwork. At least I have somewhere to scroll that isn't full of doom. It's nice. Also my head hurts because I had a scalp biopsy yesterday. Nothing serious, but I was given instructions on what to do if I start "oozing" which is slightly concerning.

I'm already doing the thing where I just don't have much to say. Work burns me right the hell out during the week. The weekend feels like it's mostly dedicated to recharging for work. At least I have some time off soon...

Anyone have suggestions for good #Procreate brush sets specifically for #PixelArt? I've already bought the excellent Manero Pixel Art Experience set. Wondering what else is out there. Seeing lots of stuff that doesn't look quite right (i.e. inconsistent sizing, rotation, etc.)

It's kind of funny how groups of people develop little "micro-languages". In the Hades II modding Discord, we often communicate in big-chinned Walters (hoys) and everyone seems to understand what it means. I don't, but I try 😆

I've been working on redoing the art for my little game I made for React Jam last month. Not quite done, but it's nice to feel like I'm making some progress. First 3 iterations were done on a PC with PyxelEdit during the jam, last one is Procreate. #pixelart
