Chapter 6: Self discovery Forced to go longer than 20 minutes without eating, Fou is forced to look inwards. He re-emerges a renewed Phantasmal Beast, with a deeper understanding of himself. He has also acquired a cowboy hat.

The prospect of a hunt has his ears perking. Immediately, the tiny creature scurries up Aurel's arm. This being who smells strongly of dragons will surely find him large and entertaining game! The expectation being that such a small creature could do no more than track and lead. ↷

Fou shakes his head. Even though he's by himself right now, he's not really 'alone.' There's people to return to. 《 Fou fu? 》 ( Are you? )

Chapter 3: Fou gets lost.

A regular phenomenon. These creatures are never really creative, but the name is starting to grow on him. So... Begrudgingly... He will continue to be called 'Fou.' Or 'Foufou' this time. 《 Fou foufou. 》 That's as far as they'll get with introductions, so Fou begins his next pressing task: ↷

《 Fou. 》 It's an affirmation. Then the little creature sharply turns his nose up and... Scoffs. The way he walks with his head held high is quite prideful.

... He leaps back from Ben, back arched, fur standing on end, and hisses. Those terms... He won't accept those terms. 《 FOU! FOU FOU! 》

《 Fou! 》 He nods his head in affirmation. When the human lowers himself, Fou steps even closer until his front paws on the other's calf. He sniffs about, now... Doesn't smell like food. 《 Fou? 》

Fou, Foulin fou? (Special Translation: Why don't you take a long foul off a short pier?)

《 Fuufou fou fou. 》 ( Ah, another one. ) Oh, how he adores the human instinct to try and help creatures they perceive as small and cute. He wonders if this one would've been equally as concerned if he were a lion or a crocodile? Stepping closer, maybe he can charm some food out of this one.

《 Fou? 》 This person seems pretty hesitant, but Fou is full of confidence. He trots right over to the stranger, plops down in front of him, and tilts his head. 《 Fufou? 》 He insists upon calling out, inquiring who this person is, even knowing the slim chances he'd be understood.

《 Fou fou. 》 They pop in and out. He 'meows' everytime they do. Eventually he has had enough of the doting and wiggles to be released.

Confound these creatures and their incessant need to dote on him. He expects a thousand treats in return for his patience. 《 Fou.... 》 He rolls his eyes and holds up his paws.

He will allow this, because he is 'well socialized' and 'doesn't bite,' apparently. He does go limp like a stuffed animal though.

He latches on twice as hard. His jaw is fully unhinged now and he has a strong grip on the skull. Perhaps the spirits will remove him, but that head is coming with! 《 Gwarrrh! 》
