Building a great social experience isn't just eng—there are tons of nuanced, non-tech decisions—but the eng is necessary (and very hard). The beauty of at proto is it abstracts away a lot of the eng work so people _can_ focus on the hard non-eng work

The "For You" feed is truly a game changer for my Bluesky experience 🥰 (I'm a sucker for algorithmic feeds.)

Heavily requested feature: mute ✨topics✨ It took ~30s (after signing in) to mute 4 categories and improved my feed a lot

Two goals: 1) For You gives you what you want; no need to look under the hood or tweak anything 2) If you’re interested, you can fully understand and control your algorithm People trying out Bluesky expect #1–without it they’ll leave. But I hope #2 shows them this place is different & special

Right now skygaze.io just shows you the bluesky equivalent of accounts you follow or interact with on Twitter. I’m considering adding a section that suggests other bsky accounts that are _similar to_ the ones from Twitter

I’ve been using @graysky.app pro for my personal and bluesky’s client for the @skygaze.io account for the last couple days. Forming a funny vibe association between the apps and accts. Highly recommend

I’m designing a page that lets you select the topics you don’t want to see on your For You page. What topics / themes / whatever do you want to be able to mute?

@mozzius.dev have you ever had trouble with bskyAgent.login()? I’m having cases of it failing repeatedly before working (without changing the credentials)

After yet another Twitter debacle, we made a tool to port your Twitter follows over to Bluesky

We just had our largest ever spike in traffic 🤯 which made the feed very slow for a few minutes. Should be good now 🥳
