Visited the Tokyo National Museum the other day. I sometimes feel out of step with the modern world because museums feel so much like home to me.

Been thinking about what to do with the skills gained over the years. I even considered taking commissions or moving into game art or VFX, because that’s what everyone seemed to be doing at the time. But then the rug was pulled out from beneath, and here I am now just making things for myself.

Not wanting to treat this place as a shrink chair but seriously I don't know what I'm doing wrong... Maybe I either genuinely suck, or probably technically okay-ish, but not good at making things that general audiences might like (anime and game IPs). Maybe should hire a marketer or something.

Downloading everything I bought on FlippedNormals like a frantic madman. I swear I’ll get over my hoarding habit so I won’t have to do this again whenever a store goes down. I really loved that place.

A recurring pattern I’ve noticed is how tender I feel after posting finished pieces on socials (⁠worst on Twitter). It almost feels like recovering from injury often followed by intense regret. I don’t know why, but it’s been like this for a long time, worsened over time.

Tried to see how the anatomical details would show in this particular setup using the Lanteri–Kinglien model I’ve been wanting to print in physical form. Layer lines were quite visible around the overhang areas, but I think I can fix that with a bit of filling and sanding. #3dprinting #BambuLab

Finished watching the latest season of the live action One Piece! The pacing is incredibly good so far. I just came to know they're planning to run 12 seasons in total, and wondering how long that's going to take.

Probably not renewing my Maya license anytime soon. I’ve spent way too much time tweaking materials instead of sculpting (feels like a 1:3 ratio) in my latest work, and also I’m broke 😂 So yeah, back to Blender or Marmoset Toolbag.

Found myself revisiting the final speech from Charlie Chaplin’s The Great Dictator, and realized how painfully relevant it still is. I should watch the whole film again soon... We don’t learn enough from history, or from brilliant films that make us laugh, cry and think hard.

3D models are amazing. You just need to learn to use them properly so your art doesn't look stiff. The only way to "cheat" at art is if you steal someone's work and pass it off as your own. Anything else? Just another tool in your tool box.

Just remembered my hyperfixation era on Alauddin Khalji and Malik Kafur… and yes, it’s absolutely a legit, historically grounded ship (depending on how you interpret their relationship). I was basically begging everyone to watch Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat.

Personally, Samurai Champloo is already far too perfect in its animated form, but I’m actually hoping the live‑action version might make Jidaigeki cool again. Anything is worth a shot when you’re trying to bring a fading art form back to life.

Maybe it’s just me, but watching the live-action One Piece makes me so, so proud of Mackenyu. He feels almost like a brother to me... another person raised between two worlds.

It's no coincidence that Maya comes from the Sanskrit word for illusion. It truly feels like I'm fighting an illusion in Maya. I swear I'll go traditional one day.

I suddenly felt the urge to find the entire lyrics of Puff, the Magic Dragon (I only remembered the chorus), only to be devastated by the fact that Puff ends up all alone because Jackie Paper either grew out of playing with dragons… or died.

It's surreal... seeing my own work in my favorite magazine. I've never won an award before, but it would make it really easy to introduce myself from now on. Before: "Hi... I... um.. enjoy watching Star Trek and Indian mythology films... I also make art about suffering (⁠laughs awkwardly)"
