Though I still need more practice creating and destroying ugly heads and figures, I think I'm fundamentally more aligned with clay as a medium than, say wood carving. Now I'm kind of torn between pursuing traditional sculpting (⁠actually cheaper) and sticking with digital sculpting🤔

Watching AKIRA (1988) the other day for the first time in over two decades was insane. The animators probably lived in the studio...eating, sleeping (or more likely not sleeping) while making it. I heard they even numbered every tiny speck of dust and debris just to animate it...

For Epiphany, this glorious 1966 illustration of the Three Kings by the great Eyvind Earle (1916 - 2000), best remembered for his enormous contribution to Disney Animation's visual style during the 1950s, particularly Sleeping Beauty (1959).

Digital sculptor here. Depends on whether I'm working on a bust or a full figure, but they can take anywhere between a couple of weeks to a month. Most of the time, I struggle with the final rendering than sculpting.

Updated vent: After being ignored for several more weeks, I finally sent a final email to clarify my boundaries, explaining that I had waited long enough and would unsubscribe if I didn’t receive a response. Ironically, for the first time, they actually replied...very unprofessionally.

Received a really dumb spam email that ended mid-sentence. The sender went on at length about his life, his success as a businessperson, and being a good husband… It’s a pity he didn’t make it to the actual proposition (Quark can do way better than this!)
