We don’t need AI to “be creative” for us; we need a world in which there is time and space to wonder, joke and play with words. To fuck around with color and texture, to experiment with an intriguing sound, without the need to immediately convert process and artifact into engagement to stay solvent.

For further context twitter added a button that allows users to generate ai images using existing art posts from artists. It removes glaze and it basically reskins the artwork by using the existing work as a base. Twitter is no longer a safe space for art

This yr at ALA Im participating in an OC trading card event. Everyone was tasked to make lil cards w/art of their original characters on them and the idea is people come by the table & trade them & make a lil collection. Gonna be honest, DID NOT EXPECT THE LIST OF PARTICIPANTS TO GROW LIKE IT DID 💕

I think my love for other folks' OCs comes from 2places mostly. 1) I remember a time on the internet where OC was equated w/selfinsert &cringe and thereby shunned &publicly mocked. RP is a fantastic healing tool tho so this is like aggressive protective spite reaction now- let folks have fun/explore

Much talk about OCs! <3 I like the question "Why do people have reoccurring characters they bring out?" I think the answer here is familiarity. If it's a character one has spent time developing and practicing playing with, one will have an easier time performing that character.
