I‘ve had full professors tell me I published more than them. I also have more editing experience than many colleagues my senior, even teaching experience. So do many, *many* of my peers. If only any of this would translate to permanent employment… or even just invites to job interviews.

Communication is so often remarked upon as vital to healthcare. Yet so little research on communication is funded and so little time allowed for its effective integration in curricula. What is said about its importance is not backed up by investment.

I also think we need to talk about careers in #emca beyond academia. There are other ways to do this work. I’ve started a business that offers evidence-based consultancy and training. There are other ways too! The value of #emca work should not be underestimated.

One of the reasons to transfer my Twitter posts (well 1/3 of them that I could) was to share threads that people found helpful. Like this one from 2021 which is sadly relevant for people from Macquarie Uni again. 😢
