Respectfully, the gov is mistaken. Nobody is suggesting we eliminate addiction from our lexicon. Sub use disorder is a clinical diagnosis. Addiction is a conversational term that lacks the specificity to be useful clinically. They’re just different. The terms to get rid of are abuse, dirty/clean.

When I was in grad school, a family I was working with knitted a scarf for me. To this day, it remains one of my most treasured possessions. Whenever I feel like I'm not making a difference, it's a visible reminder that to some people, even on a very small scale, I've made a very big difference. ♥️
