as someone who occasionally orders art commissions, gotta say, one of the worst parts of that these days is needing to sift through the obvious ai slop and genuinely take the time to analyze some others who do their best to make it not obvious. the future is fun i think.

watched some gameplay of metroid prime to see if that miles character was really as bad as people said he is. jesus christ. it’s abysmal. a perfect reminder of why i would never want to work at a major game studio.

how long has this bug where bluesky mobile holds you captive in a video existed because i am not a fan.

my stance has definitely shifted on this over the years. sprinting isn’t wholly bad, but there’s gotta be a reason for it to exist. like a real reason. don’t add hunger or something to your game to justify it. otherwise, just make the player fast by default and include a walk button for precision.

i half regret buying a switch 2 bc idk when the next time i’ll actually wanna buy a nintendo game will come around. mario kart was alright, didn’t vibe with donkey kong, and everything since then has just not been up my alley. maybe i’d take more chances if they weren’t $70-$80 per game.

my current battle is accepting the fact that in order to make good video games, i have to allow myself to get comfortable seeing incomplete and flawed ideas through. it’s a bit daunting knowing there’s so much i don’t know, and that the best teacher is making amateurish mistakes.
