I'm working on a thing and making in-jokes for people who would have to be a hundred years old or a history pervert to even get.

We moved from Tennessee back to Texas when I was 10. I didn't know anyone, but testing had put me into the G/T track, so they shoved me in a room during recess with a bunch of nerds doing paperwork and playing with dice. I was running -- Holmes basic bought from a comic shop -- a week later.

Draw Steel was a blast as always. My Shadow got filled to the brim with insight, ran around the field murdering everything that moved, rolled a critical and got to take another turn, so that I basically became the Tasmanian devil with swords. Big epic combat done right. And we're only 1st level!

Stayed up too late reading Realis. It's a fascinating game. I have no idea when I'll be able to run it. I'd want five or six sessions minimum. It's too different to dip in and out of in one or two. It reminds me of Risus and the Son of Oak games, which is great.

Put pre-generated characters in your book even if you don't think people will use them. They are a fantastic resource for GMs to more rapidly understand how characters are made and how your game works.

Uploaded my new Violence scenario to RPG Trader and discovered there is no crime category? How is it that TTRPGs have so few crime games?

Sometimes you feel like the only nerd alive running the weird old system you're running and then you see some dude charging $20 on startplaying to run it.

Game writing is one of the only kinds of writing in which we use second person routinely and one of the few in which it works very well.

It's disappointing to click on what looks like a cool podcast, only to discover it's hosted on Spotify. Same for cool blogs and Substack. I just close the window. It's long past time people made the move. They're shitty companies and I'm not going to enrich them, even a little.
