Correction! Real friends show their friends all six extended films, Rings of Power, and then give them a ten hour talk on the Legendarium (especially Silm and Gondolin) because all Tolkien is good Tolkien and The Rings of Power is ✨ awesome ✨

The two issues they face are not having the rights to The Silmarillion, only the appendices and LOTR, and having to time condense thousands of years so that they don’t have a whole new cast of characters every season other than the elves. And given those restrictions, I think they’re doing great!

This might be a hot take but asking a Tolkien fan's opinion on The Rings of Power should be a first-date question! You can learn like 75% of what you need to know about a person by the way they respond...

I've watched both seasons at least twenty times over and swap out my rewatches with Silmarillion and Legendarium rereads, which people on here apparently also hate.
