In my two days of being back on twitter I didn’t really feel any urge to interact with engagement bait posts or fight with strangers online. I think I’ve become the boring adult I was afraid of becoming and I didn’t even notice

I find it a bit troubling that culture seems to have moved past episodic storytelling. I think we should focus more on self contained stories, or at least on self contained narratives within larger wholes. As a kid I picked Usagi Yojimbo tpbs at random and they always had beginning, middle and end.

I haven’t read new One Piece chapters for around six months, I opened it today and immediately rememberd that this is just one of the best comics ever made. Imagine making 1100+ chapters of a story and it still being investing and fun to read. Astounding.

you ever notice how eternaly young, immortal fantasy characters are over 100 years old? anything younger than that would just read as an elderly person in disguise, but when it crosses a 100 it becomes a shorthand for "well they don't age like we do, so they probably don't have cognitive issues"
