Highly recommend! Among others, it covers how to use short-run outcomes (surrogate indices) to assess long-run impacts. This is relevant because we/policy often want/s to know how program impacts fare in the long run but rarely have the luxury of waiting many years (before adjusting treatment).

Always invigorating to attend the PhD Excellence Initiative Workshop organized by Peter Henry @hooverinstitution.bsky.social and hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. I attended with VLab RAs, Taylor McDole and Bahiyah Leito, and served on a panel on the hidden curriculum in economics.

In this @nberpubs.bsky.social paper, we find that cognitive strategy instruction has limited impacts on student outcomes like persistence and grade point average. Future work will explore impacts on graduation. The experiments were conducted at Spelman College and funded by US Dept of Ed. #EconSky
