I will be transparent and say that posting art is not as fun as it was. It's full of anxious thoughts Is the timing/day bad? Is the quality low? Is it boring? Colours wrong? Crop bad? If I didn't get so many lovely comments on my work I don't know where I'd be with it.

Just trying to tell myself everything will be fine, generative AI will implode, creativity will flourish, integrity is valued again, jobs will be plenty and social media will no longer function as echochamber

The older I get the more I enjoy practicing and painting all forms of bodies. I used to only draw muscle / bara or pretty women. But I been doing twinks, skinnyfat, beary to superchub now. It's just fun. All bodies are beautiful. As a society I wish we'd celebrate difference rather than shun it.

And no, I am not saying that we shouldn't point out if AI has been used. But we should be mindful before accusations and picking-apart someone's work and progress. I seen huge artists accused of AI when it was recognisably manmade to anybody who makes art themselves.

AI witch hunts are more damaging to our community than AI itself. I see much false info on how sketches and timelapses are "supposed" to look like as "evidence". There's many ways to make art. Though a general consensus to progress exist, it doesn't apply to every progress.

I feel like as a hyper-productive person, I have two modes: I am locked in and grinding life and work without a sense of self awareness, or I am doing either nothing at all but at mental peace... It's one or the other, lol. It's crazy. 9 to 5 isn't made for me.

If you decide to join any ink or whatever-Tober drawing challenge, please do not force yourself to finish a drawing daily. Rather motivate yourself to draw for a set amount of time, say 30 mins to a max of 90 mins. And have breaks. You need to refresh the mind between artsessions. It helps a lot.

Probably the best wisdom we can have is that we actually know so damn little. We should never lose our curiosity or eagerness to learn from eachother. Nobody knows what they're actually trying to do on this globe, either. Keep trying and following your heart. We get one chance to do so, anyway.

Inktober sets completely unrealistic expectations regarding output. Making a complete inked drawing in one day EVERY day for a month is insane and a recipe for burnout. Don’t tie your worth to something that even professionals believe is unrealistic.

Didn't we agreed to stop romanticing Inktober a couple of years ago bc the guy running It was terrible and the trend glorifies art as content, or what happened
