To resist another day. This ink sketch was a challenge, not the subject matter, but the surroundings and the medium. It was done En Plein Air, sitting with an inkwell and quill nib on a hill at a park. working in nature always presents difficulties, but to make precise lines becomes an extra one.

Another denizen of Azor - a Skath-lizard. Large adults are the length of two lions. A “skath” is a small serrated knife used by the ape-folk for skinning game. These giant lizards’ teeth share a shape with those vicious little blades, and thus the name is shared, too. Art by @leafclaw.bsky.social

1/🧵 The marshy lowlands near the cities in Azor teem with life. The swamp critters swarm contains an assortment of Round Crabs (trilobites) & Spiked Crabs (horseshoe crabs), as well as some smaller critters. They are delicious when fried in oil and salted, & can be found in all the markets.

earlier this morning, I saw something yellow hopping from branch to branch. It is definitely not a bird and probably some type of Grasshopper or any insect in general. But it is fun to imagine that there's a tiny flightless bird that hopping from tree to tree.

Y'all check out @forgeofice.bsky.social Alex writes some excellent RPGs, and creates awesome miniatures and art with a good creative team. Its been a joy to work for him on many projects. He also cares deeply about human rights and whats going on the world. Definitely worth a follow!
