This month marked the conclusion of the largest single-site vessel removal in @castatelands.bsky.social history — a major step to restore the Delta, reduce environmental risk & safeguard one of California’s most vital ecosystems 🌊 Read more: ltg.ca.gov

We removed another abandoned commercial vessel from the Delta, a 52-ton tugboat called Bosco Baby, bringing our total to 23. We look forward to continuing this work to make the Delta safer and protect this beautiful waterway.

Few things in life are as awe-inspiring as our beautiful oceans. On #WorldOceanDay we are reminded of how much joy and peace our oceans bring us and are mindful of our responsibility to protect the ocean and keep it healthy so it continues to evoke wonder and joy.

Over several days, beginning February 20th, we removed a 120-foot-long abandoned barge from the Delta. Engine batteries, fuel cans, paint, chemicals, and other hazardous waste that could damage the waterway were on the vessel.
