I think that as well as garden lists, we need to start a front door species list. It's amazing how many inverts like our front door! This afternoon, it's a Roesel's bush-cricket.

Doddington Churchyard is having a yellow time, Bird's-foot trefoil, Yellow rattle, Mouse-ear hawkweed, Bulbous buttercup abound. Looking fern-acious too. Here's Hart's tongue and Maiden hair spleenwort. Photographers are turning up now for Spotted flycatcher. None seen by us yet. #kentnature

A great walk out to the Thames Estuary on Shorne Marshes this afternoon. First cuckoo of the year heard. First swift, green hairstreak, painted lady and hairy dragonfly seen for the year. And more lesser whitethroat singing together than I have ever heard. #kentnature

We enjoyed seeing the feeding trails of limpets on the chalk rocks at the beach just west of Samphire Hoe. Also, the ravens on the cliffs, littles egret flying over the sea and. common lizard on the concrete path. #kentnature
