Last week on the trail, I found one of my favorite quiet miracles. These are Pipevine flowers — easy to miss, blooming before the leaves arrive, long before most things wake up. They’re part of a remarkable relationship that eventually gives rise to the Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly.
