Pro Evo 2 - the first PS2 football game I played at a friend's house, years before I had my own PS2. Pro Evo 4 - one of the best ever. FIFA 2004 - first to have Wrexham in (I supported my local team before the Hollywood takeover, shock horror 😂). Lego Football Mania - something fun & different.

4 games that changed my life. Master Games 1 - a bundle that introduced me to World Soccer. Sonic 1 - cemented my love for the pastime. Banjo-Tooie - I became a retro gamer especially to come back to this. Freedom Fighters - an all time favourite that got me through a turbulent coming of age.

I must be one of the few people who are struggling to be excited about GTA VI. I'm looking forward to Mouse PI For Hire or the new Lego Batman game more.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏆 Wrexham have a proud giantkilling record in the FA Cup and they've done it again, beating Premier League Nottingham Forest on penalties. The Welsh club threw away a 3-1 lead but goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo saved two Forest penalties to secure the Cupset.

Enjoyed tracking game completions last year on here despite the interaction only being slight (that's down to my small close-knit following though) so decided to cover them again. I'll share some thoughts and reveal scores at the end of the year in usual fashion.

Seeing this remindsed me of this image that keeps getting regurgitated by the Blue Tick Daves™ (IYKYK) over on Twitter, complete with "Best Video Game Of 2004?" caption. Including The Polar Express is clearly rage bait considering the games missing from the image. Burnout 3 isn't even there FFS.

If this isn't bad enough, what you don't see here is the excessive haptic feedback the game doubtless has with EVERY screen touch and EVERY animation, while you struggle to find and navigate the settings to disable it. So glad I grew out of that phase of playing shitty mobile games

Customer mentioned the console had an ODE and said they would send the FreeMcBoot memory card, so didn't think much of it. I wasn't expecting this.

Yep, a mod to "resurrect" the IDE interface and install an IDE-2-SD adapter. Modern versions of this use a flex cable, like those by Gusse. However this one is wire-by-wire.. and is held together by hot glue 🤯

The main issue for the TLC is that the top shield cannot be released without ungluing things. Talking to the customer (who didn't know how all this was held together), we agreed I would do my best to at least try to change the thermal pads on the main chips. Easier said than done!

Once that was done 🥵 I moved to the fan. This one was very difficult to disassemble as well due to the metal housing, so I opted for using fine cotton buds to reach all the fan blades.

I then replaced the battery, which in this model means cutting the connector from the old battery, solder it to a new battery and protecting it with shrink tube

I obviously tested the console but I forgot to take a picture of it. The customer kindly provided me with a picture so that I can complete the story 😁

I turned 40 today. A milestone like this kind of makes you think; do I really need social medias anymore? I waste loads of time mindlessly scrolling but barely interact. I could be doing things that actually make me happy instead. Not making any rash decisions... yet.

Just started the first Hollow Knight. Been hearing what a great game it is but so far I'm just meandering around noir environments, chopping grass and the odd enemy, with no real clue of what I should be doing. Surely it picks up?
