Plant Dewi has received a £398,078 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund. It will enable them to develop their Connecting Communities project for the next 3 years, including extra hours at groups in Cross Hands, Cwmgors, Ammanford & Carmarthen & new ones in Llandovery, Brynaman & Whitland.

Great joy was had on 13th July when Archdeacon Eileen licensed Dr Andy Starr as Worship Leader at St Anne’s Church (Aberystwyth LMA). We’re excited to see how God will use Andy in his new capacity.

The Bishop and Revd Sophie Whitmarsh, Children Youth & Families Missioner, joined members of Mother's Union at St Non's retreat House on the edge of St Davids.  There was time for crafts and tea before a stroll in the spacious grounds. Bishop Dorrien presided at the pre-lunch Eucharist.

“The Bishop of St Davids, Dorrien Davies, has appointed Canon Marianne Osborne as Priest in Charge in Local Ministry Area of Bro Caerfyrddin. Canon Marianne will also continue as Chaplain to the UWTSD. The date for licensing is to be confirmed, but she will begin her new duties immediately.

Following a service commissioning new Worship Leaders, Bishop Dorrien consecrated an extension to Lamphey churchyard.  The Bishop was delighted to share a light supper with members of the South West Pembroke shore LMA in the excellent church hall.

Bishop Dorrien attended Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi. He toured the school, joined the assembly and judged an art competition.  He thanked the staff and pupils for all that they do.  Headteacher Mrs Thomas reminded everyone that the school is part of an educational tradition going back to Dewi Sant himself

Clergy, families and friends gathered to witness six young people make their confirmation promises in St Katherine's Milford Haven.  Bishop Dorrien was delighted to see the light of Christ burning in the Haven as a sign of hope and prays their faith grows and inspires others to follow.

The Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme has been extended for one year from March. The grant fund has also been capped at £23 million, compared to the £42 million previously available. The grants cover VAT on repairs costing more than £1000 to listed places of worship up to £25,000.
