I've been to my home hairdressing salon for a wash, cut & (blow dry still to come). We (that is me & me) established I've no special plans for the weekend, summer holidays are a thing of the past for me (that was a bit of a conversation stopper) & yes, Xmas seems a long time ago.

I wondered why there were so many fireworks going off around here y'day. It's because today is the start of the Chinese Lunar year. It's the year of the snake. I was born in the Year of the Goat which apparently makes me intelligent, romantic and compassionate. I'll go with that.

I've been hunting high & low for a pair of socks that I know I'd got out of the sock draw ready to put on. Fallen on the floor?, under the bed covers? under the pillow? I found them in the end on a table on the landing. Why I put them there we'll never know.

I couldn't get on with the new audio book by Helen Tursten. So I've given up on it and have now gone for a No 1 Ladies Detective Agency book. I know what I'm getting with Alexander McCall Smith. Easy listening. @bookwormjan.bsky.social

On This Day 11th December 2017 Garden snow and pale blue skies. This was the 3rd day of snow in 2017.

On This Day 10th December 2017 Early morning snow down the road I remember this day. It was Sunday. The snow ended up about 1' deep. Mum was bedbound & dependent on carers x4 calls a day. I was so anxious they wouldn't make it. They managed 3 calls which was something.

On This Day 8th December 2012 Sunset at the Lake There's a park & lake about 5mins drive from here. I used to go there & take photos of the geese & ducks. This time I went as the sun was setting. It was beautiful & peaceful to be there at that time.

On This Day 7th December 2017 My Favourite Tree Sadly the tree is no more. Well the trunk remains but all the branches were cut off. It is regenerating though, slowly.

On This Day 30th November 2012 If the sunset was looking promising, sometimes I would drive 5mins up to my local pub carpark & walk across the fields towards where the sun was setting. From that direction a pylon would always take centre stage.

On This Day 29th November 2014 I think this must mean mum had visitors round if the fancy biscuits were out and I'm pretty sure the 'just in case' mince pies that mum stock piled would have made an appearance.

On This Day 28th November 2012 A Xmas Tree I saw in someone's window when I was out for an after dark walk... ah the days I could go out for a walk. I miss those.

On This Day 26th November 2014 I'd like to say this photo is 'timeless' but it isn't. 10yrs down the line the shed is in a much worse state. The gardener tries to shore it up every year to stop it falling over. I've followed pretty much the same trajectory.

On This Day 25th November 2014 My teddy bear collection. My mum gave me the big teddy as an adult after I'd complained I'd never had a teddy as a child. The worn teddy on the left is my bro's & the one on the right is one I bought for myself.

On This Day 22nd November 2012 I used to take a lot of sunrise and sunset photos, mostly leaning out the window. My mum was my early warning alert person who'd tell me if the skies looked promising. Bless her. ❤️

On This Day In 2014 I joined Blipfoto for a year and took a photo every day. Given how hard my day has been (fridge/freezer broke down) I'm very grateful to know I can just go to 2014 photos & will find a photo taken on this day! 21st November 2014
