Oh hey speaking of the SoCal-Nevada Section Meeting, @thewordninjabk.bsky.social is one of the invited speakers, due to receiving the Section Award for Distinguished Teaching of Mathematics! The title of that talk is “Teaching Proofs as a Way of Knowing.”

I need to do a small poster that I would prefer to have some color, and image, and not to look like a joke. For digital release only. Is Canva my right choice? My other idea is to use a branded set of PPT slides to get the design elements in there. I just don't do this stuff.

How have I never heard it said this way? A theorem and its converse can't be equivalent because a theorem doesn't have a unique converse! I think a theorem has domain, hypotheses, conclusions; but things can move between domain/hypothesis, which changes the converse!

Today is a really big day. I finally have a therapist. And in her assessment, PTSD does describe my reaction to the abuse I received at my previous job. This in itself validates my experiences, but I’m also finally feeling hopeful that I can feel better and not be so burdened by this past.

Played the Tales of Graces f remake on Switch. It’s pretty good, but I really didn’t like the coupling shift in the future arc. I used the grade shop boosts, but it might have flattened the difficulty too much, but I was actively trying to use arts and didn’t get there on even one character.

I use the pen: Students take turns taking notes during full-class discussions, and I upload the results to the course platform for them all. This has been huge for accessibility and supporting struggling students, not to mention morale. It feels all lost. Anyone know of other options?

I used to love my LiveScribe Pen. But then they removed the useful file output. Then the app stopped functioning and can't even be loaded on current operating systems. In the new version, you have to have a phone app open live, and audio is through the phone not pen any more. It's all abandoned!

It there really no way to delete myself from a meeting invitation in Outlook without notifying the host? I have a whole series of meetings with someone who has been borderline abusive, and I WILL NOT send him notes that I'm leaving, but I CANNOT keep the reminders.
