Im an engineer by trade, but im at my happiest when im out recording spiders.
This Male Walckenaeria acuminata may be common but its a fantastic looking spider, since getting into Linys this Genus is so fasinating. And its great that the male and female of this species can be Identified with a hand Lens.

Great to see Steatoda albomaculata at long last, in high numbers too. Interesting that it doesn't seem to want to move far, a bit like Asagena phalerata which it was alongside. The webs are brilliant, a typical Theridiid snare underneath very low vegetation over sand

Great records this week, for the West Sussex site i record for a male and female Hahina pusilla, waiting on a second opinion on the male but the female is easier to ID. Good records for a scarce species.

Pick this species up earlier this week two males, Ive done recording a few times on this shingle site and thought the habitat would suit this species, glad my persistence paid off a great record for west sussex. Pseudeuophrys obsoleta, a nationally scarce species.
