I think a major obstacle to trying to find 'mainstream' or 'pop' music in the modern day is that unlike 20 or even 10 years ago there are so many subdivisions that cross boundaries less and less. As Wierd Al Yankovic recently mentioned, there is no 'Main Beat' of the era to focus on anymore.

Things, somehow, as always, are still a bit of a mess. But I'm going to try and post here more often, as a sort of 'Personal Blog' or such. ...Yeah I think its obvious from the phrasing I've been on Tumblr 'too long', ah well.

I'd like to bring back a classic to your feeds

Sometimes it feels like the only constant is change. Not a bad thing, not inherently, but when you both feel stuck in place and required to go with the flow of all else around you? That's when you start looking for a good strong thwack to the head to dislodge yourself.

I should really consider what I want to use this account for, other than liking my (many) artistic friends' creations and exploits. Yes, commentary is fun, but it needs a foundation or focus to build from... the question is what?

The only real difference between profundity and glibness is the Origin Fallacy. Ideas do not exist in a vacuum, but nonetheless it does not matter who says something so much as what is said. If you feel trite or stereotypical giving advice, that just means its more common, not that its 'bad'.

Welp. Never even bothered with Twitter myself, perhaps out of pessimism more than foresight, but I made an account here instead all the same. Not sure how much I'll post instead of simply lurking, but, who knows...? Its a brand new year, let us see where its currents take us.
