The politically and commercially manufactured ‘problem’ of immigration is boring and repetitive across the centuries. The question is why do many people still fall for it? The real effort is not in seeding the propaganda but in keeping the public opinion ground receptive and fertile to it.

The fact that abuse of people who are not deemed sufficiently “vulnerable” according to several categories is deemed not a safeguarding matter is simply insane. Everyone deserves to be protected from abuse, not just those who fall into certain categories.

It's absolutely bonkers that end of life / palliative / hospice care isn't as much a part of the core NHS mission as maternity care. Yes, in theory you can die at home without needing medical support, just as in theory you can be born at home without it, but come on!

Reading papers is a basic skill (and dare I say duty?) of scientists, and I include medical doctors in that group. Keeping abreast of the literature is a foundational part of our professions. There aren’t good shortcuts. In any case, reading papers regularly is fun.
