Our volunteers discovered Blanche Baker-Gabb while transcribing an early #WomensInstitute Minutes Book from @gwentarchives.bsky.social, then we found her family archive at #NationalLibraryWales and finally, her signature on the #WelshWomensPeacePetition of 1923 ❤️#EYAConnections

Another individual in the Gwent LGBTQ+ Timeline, is Margaret Haig Thomas who was 2nd Viscountess of Rhondda. Raised at Llanwern House, Thomas’ marriage to Humphrey Mackworth, from Newport, failed. Following the failure of her marriage, Thomas had several important relationships with women.

What a successful week so far! At the end of the day yesterday we had repackaged 77 boxes and 79 oversized items. We’ve also enhanced the catalogue by adding more detail. We look forward to sharing the final stats with you sometime next week!
