It's #MapMonday ! This colourful 'map of the Ulster counties' is from the Hardiman Atlas collection, deposited in DRI by Trinity College Dublin. The Hardiman Atlas contains nearly 90 maps and plans and is one of the largest sets of original Tudor and early Stuart maps of Ireland surviving anywhere.

As we all prepare for the winter holidays, take a look at this colourful Conradh na Gaeilge Christmas card for 1913, signed by Douglas Hyde. The card uses an illuminated letter N as its dominant motif, and is inspired by the illuminated texts produced by Irish monks many centuries previously.
