Our goal is to build on exciting efforts by Botanical Gardens across the globe to decolonize their collections and institutions. We're particularly interested in asking how Botanical Gardens can function not only as educational sites for e.g. botany but also for (colonial) history.

The Utrecht team consists of Gertjan Plets, myself and @mette.bsky.social. Mette and I will lead a work package on Botanical Gardens, which fosters collaborations with the Herbarium in Suriname and with @m-azzolini.bsky.social of the University of Bologna.
