The panoramic prerenders were what I was most proud of figuring out how to do. AFAIK no game has done anything like it. Closest I can think of is one of the Myst games (the third, I think?)

IIRC I not only pre-rendered the background, but rendered the light probes in blender so the realtime models would have lighting to match the scene
