Like I said this week sociallydead.me is in cleanup mode! So there will most likely no updates that go live! But this week will help the project move foward! Like next to normal breakpoints for mobile and desktop it now detects landscanpe and portrait and actually if touch is supported!

Work on sociallydead.me is progressing. And actually pretty well! But not all work is visible. This week is cleanup and refacturing week!

Starting monday sociallydead.me development will be kinda boring! As it is one week of cleanup, refacturing and stuff. Not to exciting... But since it is going forward, that is kinda needed work! Sometimes you need to do the boring stuff!

A lot of software does not care for people with special needs like vision or hearing issues. We aim to e different! We added a high contract mode build in and ariasupport from the start. And I am right now in DM with a vision impaired older lady that is color blind. WOrking on improving contrast!

Still not giving up so here are the latest changes: - Unified render BlueskyRichText, That processes @ and # and links first and then does apply markdown! - While I like my notifications short, for some people they where to short, so I expanded them to show the full tex t not just an excerpt!

It was worth a try, And hey an almost feature complete bluesky client in 3 weeks! Actually with extra features like highlights and articles + markdown styling. But yeah nobody gives a hit! We raised $15! Awesome!

Well progress is slow...and it might get slower! After now at the end of its first month in existence,,, sociallydead.me raised exactly $15! And it costs$100 to run each month... So the project might die... Unless it finds like an angel! Making the choice on saturday... When the $100 are due!

Ok finished with my paying job! Now back to sociallydead.me! First there are good news! IThe project by now raised a whooping $15! So YAHOOO! Anyhow todays goes is to implement better following of posts and topics! Anyhow please support the project!

Today was a busy day... and also a good day! - Post creation got streamlined for new, quotes and replies. - Markdown rendering is no consitent. - Posts layout including the verfied badges fixed - Feeds are more compact! AND I made $5 so I am now at $6! YAHOOO! Only $94 needed until friday!

Some people asked why the edit button in sociallydead.me says pseudo edit... They key is posts in BlueSky can not be edited, they are imutal for reasons! So what it does is it takes your text, lets you edit it and once you are done it DELETES the original and POSTS the new post. So pseudo edit!

Latest update: - Desktop and Mobile Menus are in sync again! - Toolbar now only shows get verfied if the user is actually signed in! - Added a coffee ware card to home! So maybe the darn project will ever make its second $ for gods sake!

Even on my birthday I made changes to SociallyDead. I mean it is my pet project, work of love 😍 A lot was focused on compatibility with BlueSky. Like bookmarks and starter packs now show the same data. And I hope I fixed paypal that I use for simple verification. Now I just need somebody with a $!

Did I just break the Codex AI? I normaly write my code without AI but I figured I try it to solve compatibilty issues between my client and bluesky. Its minor but bookmarks do not sync. So I wasked Codex where I have implementation issues. 30 min ago, it is still at it!

One thing that might make sociallydead.me interesting to people with bad vision: - in general it has better contrast and is easier to read I think but also under settings you can toggle a high contrast mode and change font sizes. That might be handy!

Compatibly days are here... The goal is to be as compatible with the original BlueSjy client as possible obiously. Swtiching should be a breeeze. And there are minor issues, like bookmarks are currently stored different etc. So I need to fix that...

@authorstuartmiller.bsky.social This might be interesting to you! Next to the verfied badges for domains etc... I got articles and highlights to work. And also articles! Articles are up to 2000 char long posts! Obiously those tabs are onle visible on my client though!

Cleanup was very productive! - Profile hover cards now work correc also on notifcations. - Since I cleared up notifcations they now well look better... - And my checkmarks for BlueSky, Domain and my basic verfied now all work correct and consistent.

The sociallydead.me source code that is on GitHub. Once it is more stable I consider to split it into two projects. One will be just the core BlueSky agent that uses OAuth. Since that is a fucking pain to get working! So maybe that alone helps others. And I try to keep it pure BlueSky!

I tried to use Grok for code cleanup and finding legacy items that I forgot to clean up and that are no longer used. So I pointed it at my github and let it do its work... Well what can I say, thank god for version control and backups! It fucked up everything!

I just wondered... Why do I not try to use AI to clean up... I can point Grok at my GitHub repo and see what it does if I tell it to find all code that is no longer referenced and well legacy. Lets see what it does... But I will for sure do a backup first!

If you work on a larger project like sociallydead.me you go through cycles. One is where you do interesting stuff like implementing new features and so... But there is also bug fixing and cleaning. This will be what I am doing until friday. Clean house until I add new stuff...
