“Why no EarthBound?” For anyone here from old fandom days, I really can’t pinpoint what it was but somewhere in the last couple years, I lost basically most of my enthusiasm for EarthBound. Great game. Looking forward to playing it again someday, but it just doesn’t spark joy for me anymore.

Honorable mentions include Silent Hill 2 and Skyrim, which I didn’t include since I capped this at the PS2 era.

I’m between Patricia McKillip’s Riddle Master trilogy, Anne McCaffrey’s Pern series, and Katherine Kurtz’s Deryni novels as the next thing to read after finishing Hawkmoon.

Dockable handhelds have spoiled me. I don’t care to buy video game hardware ever again that doesn’t do the docking handheld thing.
