I've just replaced the felt mat on my Rega Planar 3 turntable, with this. It's a condensed acrylic mat which, supposedly, gives a punchier bass response, with less noise, a sweeter top end, and all with zero static generation. It certainly looks the part. Let's see, or hear, how it performs....

My Dad was at de Havilland where he coveted the Anglepoise 1209s in the drawing office. During modernisation with strip lighting, he made sure he was in the right place to acquire one. I like to think I now change records under the same lampshade that the Mosquito was designed.

The 'Herbert Terry & Sons' world famous 'Anglepoise' lamp. I've wanted one for ages. This an early 1940's example of the two-step 1227 model, with steel - not nylon, pivots, original 'crabtree' bakerlite bulb holder, and the original "scrumble' paint. And this one is mine 😎
