This is by design, consequence of a extrajudicial state-run model of immigration detention being implemented in Florida. Since Alligator Alcatraz opened we have been unable to locate individuals in the ICE locator and hospitalizations for severe medical incidents go unreported.

For a supposedly fiscally conservative model that pontificates against bailouts and “handouts”, libertarianism sure needed a lot of bailouts and “handouts” to stay afloat in Argentina.

Milei’s libertarian govt in Argentina has requested these bailouts so far: $20 billion from IMF, $12 billion from World Bank, $10 billion from Inter-American Development Bank, $300 million from Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) and a tbd multibillion bailout from the U.S.

This exposes two strands of conservatism as fraudulent: the America First rhetoric and the free market libertarianism of Milei. A taxpayer funded bailout for an economy wrecked by shock doctrine and austerity, which will be a debt passed on to future generations of Argentineans.

Will the free market absolutists who spent the last year and a half enthusiastically promoting Milei’s libertarian model retract that endorsement now that the U.S. is offering a massive taxpayer funded bailout for his government?
