With the excellent, yet grim study conducted on SUV’s, it reaffirms work concluding that drivers of expensive cars are more likely to break the law, endanger others, more egocentric and less empathetic to others. Ignorance is less of a factor because the point of purchase is endangerment by design.

💯 Asking drivers nicely doesn’t work. Making them aware of the increased dangers they impose on others (calls for compassion) doesn’t work. Strict regulation and taxing at levels equivalent to the added dangers and costs they impose on society are the necessary measures that need to be taken.

Had a bike ride earlier today, then a drive to sort a few things later. One experience was enjoyable and the other was bordering on intolerable. Congestion everywhere (yes I am traffic) & average speed was significantly higher on the bike. This isn’t central London and yet the roads are choked.

Bit disappointed after recently praising the segregated cycle lane on Headingley Lane, to see it today fully obstructed at several points with works signage. Each time forcing you back onto the road. Kind of defeats the point.

Velogames Tour De Suisse team pretty much decided on. Not easy. Weak GC field, question marks with lots of riders, so whatever you go with you’ll likely be taking a bit of a punt somewhere in your lineup. Biggest flyer is Thibaut Nys, but looked good in his first race back in Gippingen.

Good drivers have no problem with cyclists & other road users. Cyclists don’t just fly out of nowhere. Huge red flag for anyone claiming so. Always on the look out, so they don’t get caught out. They prioritise the safety of others above their own convenience. Dirt cheap car insurance too 👍

Just had a school run parent sat outside my house with engine idling for at least 20 minutes. This by no means is a one off, it’s commonplace. A sign in itself that fuel is nowhere near expensive enough. Don’t worry idling, selfish school run parents though, Labour have got your back.
