I heard the rapture happened a while back! Did anyone notice anything unusual? This is actually a sketch from back when everyone was talking about the rapture, and I decided to clean it up a little and slap some flat colors on it. #vore

I have a problem with sketching -- I struggle to make "messy" sketches, and I tend to put way too much effort into details when I should be working fast so I can iterate. I've been doing some practice to try to overcome this issue! #vore

Daily dev update: I haven't updated in a couple days, so I thought I'd drop a quick one: I am very sick (just a bad cold) and am currently in recovery mode. I'll get back to the game soon, I promise!

Almost forgot my Daily Dev Update. I got the "bad end" code working, but I didn't get nearly as much done today as I had hoped. Starting to feel a little worried and hoping that my past failures aren't about to repeat themselves.

Daily Dev Update: the main loop is almost finished! I basically just need to add in the ability to have the game show an ending. Then the game will be fully functional -- not pretty, but functional -- and I can start plugging content into it. #voretober #gametober

Daily Dev Update: Fixed a bug with the ability to have branching paths, but I'm also really proud of myself because I thought about a feature I wanted to add, then realized that because of the way I programmed the paths, it would work as is! Feeling really confident. #voretober #gametober #gamedev

Daily dev update: nothing super fancy or exciting, but I got the system set up to load the events from the JSON files into a pool, then pick random events from that pool. #voretober #gametober #gamedev

Daily dev log: workday, so not a lot of time in the evening to work on it, but I got some basic "branching paths" working based off player stats. #voretober #gametober #gamedev

Daily dev update: got a little further into the main loop, it now checks to try to "resolve" the current story event and recurses down the JSON file if there's more to it. Next I need to start getting the player stats up and running so those can be used to affect certain events.

Daily dev update: no screenshot, but I got the game set up to receive JSON files that will store the event information, and started putting together the game's main "loop." I also got the UI to accept input, which didn't want to work at first and had me a little frustrated.

#voretober Dev update! Feeling a little sick today, so didn't get as much done as I wanted to. But I did some thinking and prep work and laid out some of my ideas about how the game will flow. Oh, and I also finished setting up the Git repository that I didn't finish last night!

I have decided that instead of doing sketches every day for Voretober, I'm gonna do a game jam! I'll be trying to refamiliarize myself with Godot, and will be posting progress every day if possible! This will be about learning and trying to rekindle my passion for something I love.

I got a message on Tumblr about skinny hammerspace preds, and I agree, they're fantastic! The idea of a large prey just vanishing is super appealing. Still there, still kicking and squirming and screaming, but there's no way anyone would notice. #vore
