My house smells so good! I made minestrone soup, a January tradition. It takes about an hour to assemble and chop all the ingredients, but worth it.

Here are the books I read in 2025. Mostly police procedurals with a few others mixed in. I am definitely a series reader.

My December reads. Sovereign was a long one, but I really enjoyed it - another mystery in the Shardlake Series set in the time of Henry VIII. Was very entertained by The Impossible Fortune and Friends of Dorothy was a light read. 📚⚡️💙

In case anyone likes snow, we got another foot last night. It is going to warm up tomorrow and change to rain which will make a mess, but it is pretty now. Of course my husband headed up to #Shames early this morning to catch the powder. He will snowblow later.

The snow is letting up and settling

We got about a foot and a half of snow yesterday and it is still snowing. Was a good day to stay home and decorate the tree. It is not daylight yet but I will take pictures soon. My husband made it up the ski hill. Roads were terrible but skiing was great! Then he did the snowblowing, round one.

I am so angry with Spotify, adding videos to all my playlists and changing songs on the playlists I made to videos. I surely can’t see a video through my speakers.

Ideas, those tiny packages of hope brought this piece into reality. Moving towards colder times, nesting calms the soul.

Went out to our local Christmas tree farm and got a tree, before the snow comes. Got it in water and thawing out because it is cold today. Will decorate it tomorrow.

Been having trouble with my hip for a while, so haven’t been out and about to take any pictures. Took a drive today to Prince Rupert (90 miles) for a change of scenery. #SealCove #PrinceRupert Always warmer by the ocean. Looks like we are in for some snow at home this week.

These are the books I read in November. Arnaldur Indridason is one of my favourite authors. I loved his “Erlender” series the most. Louise Penny is another favourite. Slow Horses are always good and the Molly the Maid series is just for fun. So, for me, some great books this month. 📚⚡️💙

Looks like we are out of the rain pattern. Saw a little sun today and some snow may come soon.

My husband hiked up with friend to the top of #ShamesMountain today. The hill is not open yet, but they hiked way up and skied down. Stopping for a bite to eat. #skiing

At open mic yesterday, I was so pleased to see young Ezra Beaton show up. 17 yrs. old, playing guitar for only 4 yrs and playing Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan and his own songs like magic. A guitar magician! And he can sing. We all were “wowed”!

I have not been posting because life here is just grey and wet, continually. Going out to hear more live music this weekend. My husband is hiking, with skins, up #ShamesMountain again today to ski. The snow may get down here soon. Photo from last winter. Not that much snow here yet.
