Not Their First Rodeo: Gravitational Wave Detectors Spot Merging Black Holes That Have Merged Before
The gravitational wave events GW241011 and GW241110 provide strong evidence for the growth of black holes through successive mergers.

Star-Crossed Clusters: When Ages Are at Odds
If you measure the age of a star using two different methods, do those ages agree? New research shows where our age estimates might be mismatched and what this disagreement could mean.

Spinning Up: Impacts of Stellar Collisions on Binary Black Hole Mergers
How do interactions binary black holes experience in dense star clusters impact the gravitational waves we detect on Earth? Recent simulations show that stellar collisions leave imprints on the masses...

A measure to cancel some Canadian tariffs is all but certain to stall in the House. But with a handful of Republicans in favor, the vote sent a signal of opposition to the levies.

, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that our first black hole image paper is in the top 5 most cited papers in the Astrophysical Journal Letters! I'm also sort of shocked that the top 5 cited papers are all about black holes or neutron stars, not exoplanets?! đź”🧪

The US government has been turned over to a group of extraordinarily ignorant people, and they are working to destroy science in this country. Cutting over half the NSF budget would save < 0.1% of the federal budget, but do incalculable harm. Simply heartbreaking.
