I bought a notebook with I believe 250 pages and my 2026 plan is to fill it like a journal but in Japanese.

Might have just bought a new camera 👀 A Om5 Mark II. My Birthday/Christmas present for myself.

Currently debating which camera I want to buy. Guess it depends on which model my local second hand options have first. After all a decent, small M43 camera costs so much.

I have set up Yomitan and Asbplayer on my Android recently. Didnt have the chance to really dive in and figure everything out yet.

Currently sick - forced break from my Japanese learning... I am behind, was planning to finish Genki 1 this year and not sure if I will make it.

So, it's official. I have around a year, before I will go to Japan for ~4 month! Meaning I have ~1 year to better my Japanese as much as possible!

So after ~1,5 years of learning Japanese and feeling stuck, I decided to start Genki, I looked at it at the start but it didn't click. Now it somehow feels better. Maybe also because I have a Japanese person to do some exercises and ~1 year before I maybe will go to Japan for multiple month!

Saw someone say, “Stop hoarding books, we don’t need paper books anyway” and I can’t express how misguided this is. Online libraries disappear, digital books can be altered, and with Big Tech seeking to destroy history and literacy, print media has never been more essential.

I have gotten an introduction to my woodworking clubs Tormek T8. Now I am ready to sharpen my carving knives - hopefully it will turn out better then when I do it with sandpaper and by hand!

I have gotten so busy in the last few weeks and will be in the next few weeks... I think I took on too much 🙈

So if you had one year to learn Japanese to a relatively decent level (say start of N3), what would you do? I have been learning Japanese focused since the beginning of the year, but feel my methods are really not the best.

Just joined my unis woodworking club. Now have acces to a lot of tools, but absolutely no clue...

Forgot to post for a while. After the holiday, I had a hard time to get back into a rhythm. Now I'm starting to be more consistent with learning Japanese again.

Some small beginner carvings. Just need to paint them.

LRT: I do want to reiterate: I learned Japanese from scratch, starting at 18. A lot of people scare themselves out of learning it or another language as adults thinking it's somehow impossibly tough if you miss that window when your brain is more "impressionable," but it really isn't.

Working with Teuida shows me how bad my 'r' pronunciation is in Japanese 🙈 I know better but my muscles don't know yet...

Next week I am going back to work, going back to the day to day. So I can get back into regular and more intense Japanese learning. Only did some Anki and Teuida the last few weeks because of vacation. Needed the break. But I didn't really feel progress. Now, I am itching to do more again.

I have too many hobbies! I don't want to stop any of them, I want to do more!!!

And there goes two weeks of holiday... But I managed to learn knive sharpening and did some carving.

First time trying to sharpen my woodcarving knive. Messed up, but think I fixed it. The knive is sharp, but not sharp enough. I really need to learn the angle...

I am on holiday right now, so making new videos and pictures for my German comprehensive input YouTube Channel.

I downloaded the Teuida app three days ago. And finally doing some speaking. It is nice, especially for the speaking confidence!

First summer in the apartment and I realise it's like a sauna. It heats up so easily, but no real good way to cool it down 🙈 Its like 5° warmer than outside...

Soo... I have been starting a Podcast for people who want to listen to some easy, clear and slower German with simpler vocabulary and grammar. It is called DeutschFluss and I could use some feedback! #langsky

I hate to say this, but I need to do more traditional language learning for Japanese. I focus too much on Comprehensible Input recently, cause its just so convenient! But I need more grammar knowledge and possible look for a tandem partner to speak as well!

The best thing about language learning is, when you have been studying for a while, and suddenly you notice the progress. While the process is slow, I always notice it at one point and suddenly I understand. #langsky

I have been inconsistently learning Japanese for a year (bc of looking into other languages), but concentrating on it since the start of this year and up until now it felt like no real progress. But in the morning I watches a video and recognized the character and understood a good portion of it!

Doing my Japanese Learning right after getting up is great! I never forget and have ~2h.

Currently thinking about creating some content for German learners, who want to learn through comprehensible input. I'm not a teacher, but a German native. And I like learning languages myself. What do you think? #langsky
