Me whenever possible >> write down definitions IN the language I'm focused on rather than in English. (Or even in other languages I know if I don't feel ready yet) This helps me to translate less in my head

The thing that they don't tell you about learning multiple languages is that you can look at a regular ole word and question your very existence about how to pronounce it when you've been saying it for decades. Like "are" or "miles"

Listening to resources from my comprehensible input list and here's what I think about before I even press play: 1. Figure out my session goal 2. Choose/Remix a strategy that matches that Because listening isn't just "listening". There are layers to it. Lemme break it down for you! #langsky

"What is the best podcast/channel for improving listening?" ...Is the wrong question. Immersion has it's place, absolutely. But immersion alone, "just listening" to content, isn't going to help you ACTUALLY understand native speakers without a strategy to back it up.

Writing in another language isn’t hard because you “don’t know enough grammar.” It’s hard because you are not practicing with the grammar you already know. #langsky

I’m so done with “just journal every day” as advice for language learners. Journal what? In what tense? And what happens when you get stuck after three lines?

Stopping mid-sentence in the languages you're learning isn’t proof you’re “not ready yet.” It’s proof no one gave you a way to keep going when the words aren’t perfect.

Googling every verb form while you write FEELS productive..but it’s not. It’s breaking your train of thought before you finish the sentence and teaching you to stop everything when you don't understand or know something. Better move? Mark it and keep going. #langsky

Waiting until you “know more” before writing in the languages you're learning? Yeah..that’s how fluency gets delayed, friend~ Start now (yes, with the vocabulary and grammar you know and can use RIGHT NOW). Because you improve your writing by WRITING. Not by WAITING to write #langsky.
