Been reading up on Blender lately, and it occurred to me that the almost all of the creative tools I'm using have Linux-native versions. Still holding out for a native Ableton port (or else give in and learn Bitwig), but it's very likely my next workstation build will be penguin-flavored.

Finally got to play StepmaniaX recently, and wow between freely dropping in/out mid credit and QR codes for everything, the experience runs way more smoothly. Wish other dance games would steal some of these ideas, though it might mess with unlock systems.

This year I committed to buying lots of new music and listening to entire albums. In the process I've found quite a lot of cool sounds to cherish, but I don't get many opportunities to gush about them. So to cap the year off, I'm posting 12 songs that really stuck with me this year, one daily.

December 2024 music haul. This year I found my albums from Rateyourmusic's algorithm and artists/labels/users I was already following on Bandcamp. Next year I want to emphasize more social connections for discovery, like artists playing shows/festivals with ones I know, or via V/A compilations.
