I have filled my winter calendar with classes at the leather school I'll probably regret the part where I have to keep leaving the house in the cold and dark all winter But I'm excited for making more things!

I finished making my leather-bound book! Made the spine too tight though so it doesn’t open as well as I wanted, but at least I know what I did wrong and how to fix it next time.

I took a leather bookbinding class at the leather arts school and now I’m making books at home again I think this was my first time using my punching cradle, it makes things much easier! I’ll make and attach a cover tomorrow

One of our cats loves to splash and tip water bowls. I bought one that’s supposed to resist splashing and tipping but he took that as a challenge. It’s now known as “the splash pad” and lives in our tub. He taught his brother to love splashing all the water out of it too

I went on the Brick of Chicago walking tour of Albany Park and it was great, I’ve been on a bunch of his tours now and strongly recommend them. I’m hoping to do the Uptown tour yet this season (maybe Beverly too but that’s so much farther for me to get to)

Got up super early today to monitor a cat situation and ended up having a couple quiet hours to just sit on the couch with a book and breakfast and coffee. Wish I could actually keep up with a sleep schedule that would let me have mornings like that every day!

I can’t find my tool pouch of metalsmithing pliers and I am losing it tearing up the house with no luck. I know I used them for something (but what??) not all that long ago. Did I leave them somewhere weird? Did I decide they needed to live in some other spot? Did I loan them to someone? Augh!

Finally had dinner on the Kraken Sushi patio (instead of ordering delivery) and it’s so cute on the patio and the food is delicious!
