New Darksides video! Terror on the Frontier: The Folk Horror of Eyes of Fire

I’ve had a problem with this script I’ve been working on, but now I’m feeling good about it. As a result of this though there’s going to be two main videos this month. Hopefully a week apart from each other, not a part one and part two situation but still related to each other.

Got to this boss in Silent Hill F and the game is really clicking for me now. I don’t agree with everything it’s doing, but I’m really enjoying watching it come into its own and I’m liking it way more than the 2 remake as of now.

Now reading this. I’ve been really excited to check it out based on how folks talk about it.

Started playing Silent Hill F, and I genuinely do like it, but I’m having the same issues I had last year with the 2 remake where it just makes me feel like I’d rather be playing the old ones. Strange issue with this series that I don’t ever feel with new Resident Evils.

Hell yes!!!! My favorite Halloween movie. Had the pleasure of seeing it in theaters this year. Gets better with each watch.

I read this this past week. Evil, evil book, but extremely well done, impactful, actually heartbreaking. I don’t even know what to say about it other than it will stick with me for a long time and that I would highly recommend it.

If Bloober is remaking Silent Hill one I kind of think they should get weird with it and just go ahead and do three at the same time and somehow meld them together. Both games are pretty short and are also so tied to each other that I think it would make for a better experience.

I’m worried about being able to switch between first and third person in the new RE. I don’t think that’s ever really worked well in anything and I’d much rather them stick to a single perspective and really nail that instead of doing two things where one inevitably feels much worse than the other.

Some fun book finds I got today.

I find these Ghibli “manga” publications that just reuse stills to be so weird. Not only is it just a worse way to experience the story of the film, but it also devalues what comics can do and just perpetuates the idea that they are interchangeable with filmic media. Just feels very anti-art to me.

Somewhat sad to learn that The Celtic Way in Asheville seems to have finally closed. To me it was in its own way a bizarre and horrible local institution. If you want to see the wildest reviews of any business go to its yelp page. The racist lady who ran this place terrorized tourists for decades.

The new Final Destination is like a half step away from just being a new Scary Movie and I loved it for that. Most fun I’ve had with a horror movie in a while.

Didn’t look close enough at this and didn’t know until folks told me that the design they put out was just an AI image. I get why folks are mad at it now and I really hate that. Very disappointing. When they said that Nicotero was involved I just took it at face value as real concept art.
