We’re the party that rolls up our sleeves and gets things done in our communities. We beat Labour and the Conservatives in last years local election and we'll do it again.

Coastal towns. Rural villages. Left out of the Government's Devolution Bill. Baroness Cathy Bakewell and Lib Dem peers wouldn't accept it. We pushed until ministers backed down. Coastal & rural communities are now written into the Bill.

The more senior the person, the more crucial role, the more removed they were from seeing the relevant paperwork: we need a complete overhaul over how vetting is done for key posts.

How did the PM end up appointing Mandelson? Vetting officer → FCDO official → Olly Robbins → Prime Minister. Not one of them had seen the paperwork. Our peer

The Conservatives have folded on protecting children from harmful social media. Last night, Tory MPs abstained on a Lords amendment that would have got under-16s off harmful platforms, caving on an amendment tabled by their own peer. Here's what happened: 🧵

Medical misogyny is still the norm. Women aren't listened to. Maternity failures repeat across the country. Perinatal mortality is rising. We want every maternity unit rated good or outstanding with one-to-one midwifery guaranteed. Britain should be the safest place in the world to give birth.

10 people deciding for a city of 84 councillors. That was Sheffield under the "strong leader" model and Labour wants to force it on every council in England. If the Bill is called the Community Empowerment Bill, why isn't it empowering communities? Let local people decide.
