Yesterday @zergqueenraven.bsky.social came all the way up from San Jose to San Francisco (an all-day trip without a car) just to have dinner with me on my hour break. I'm so grateful to have friends who will go so far out of their way to make time for me. Especially when I am having a hard time. 🥰

Gotta thank @furryweekend.com again for allowing me to host FWA TV this year and make a surprise appearance in Opening Ceremonies! :D Was a blast. Till next year and hopefully I knock this con crud soon. Ehee.

Being a leader responsible for multiple groups of people is rewarding but exhausting. You constantly have to make decisions that affect the lives of others and take into account how that will affect them. Naturally that makes one of my biggest kinks the surrender of that control to someone else...

I have been released from my diet! I can finally resume eating all my favourite foods! I will celebrate tonight with a grilled cheese and tomato soup 🥰🧈🍞🧀🥫🥣

Progress update: got my sutures off and I can finally see it! I used to hide it because I was embarrassed but I want to share the change so here it is before and after. Probably not much to look at, weird even, but it's a really big deal for me 🤕😁

Day 11 and I was able to get myself out of the house for some actual walking around time and I did well! As long as I am taking it easy. I also learned my Dr wants me to be on this diet for two months! Of all the things I've quit, that's the one I'm not sure I'm going to be able to stick to... >.<

Day 10. I showered, changed my bandages and finally saw my belly; no more ugly bulbous protrusion! I feel like a new person. So many changes in my life rn and I'm really excited and grateful for everyone's love and support. 🥰

Day 9 and I'm already feeling better and more mobile. Started off the day well by finally getting treatment for my ADHD. Developed a good plan with the psychiatrist and feeling very optimistic!

Today is day 8 of sobriety and things are still pretty ok. Recovery is gonna be a long road now that I have to limit what I do for the next 4 weeks. To add to my frustration I discovered quitting nicotine causes you to gain weight! 10lb heavier and can't do anything about it...😡

Out of surgery and back home. Everything went well and I'll be recovering for a while. Send positive vibes for a speedy recovery!

Surgery day today. Pretty minor but hospitals make me really uncomfortable. I'm actually looking forward to getting rid of this thing that has bothered me my whole life. Shit it's early...

Day 4 I almost psyched myself out of going to to a party full of people I care about because I haven't been sober at a party in idk how long. It went great although this restrictive diet sucks and I can't wait to be off it. Love you @dade.bsky.social, happy birthday!

Day 3 and the worst of it is still not having the nicotine that I have relied on for the last 10 or so years to calm my anxiety. I'm managing ok I think but it's very distracting when I'm already putting everything I have into staying focused on a task...

Day 3 was tough having to work a full 8hr day but I persevered! Grabbed a bunch of sushi on the way home where I slept for 12 hours. Two weeks of travel, events and cons caught up with me all at once. Feeling refreshed now though and ready to continue 💪😁

Ughhh work is such a drag but on the plus side I realized sushi is in my diet and I'm really excited now! Who wants to get dinner?? 😋🍣🥢

Day 2 complete. Anxiety still up and down but I'm powering through. Difficult to complete tasks and easily frustrated but getting some stuff done... Thank you for everyone's support 🥰

When I was young my mother told me to be the change I wish to see in the world, leave it better than I found it. Since then I have been determined to make a difference no matter how small. I'd never hope to be as great as those in our history books but that wasn't their goal either.

PSA: Do not threaten convention staff ever. These people put countless hours of volunteer time into creating these spaces for you to enjoy and it is a labour of love. When they are threatened it is no longer enjoyable and you risk destabilizing an invaluable and irreplaceable part of our community.

I haven't had PCD in years. I struggle with working too much at cons and when I get home I'm relieved. #LVFC2024 finally changed that for me. I had such a great time with friends new and old. I didn't want it to end! It has reminded me why I do all this. ❤️
